About
Myesha Francis
Myesha Francis is a nationally recognized multimedia artist, curator, arts educator, and creative entrepreneur, deeply passionate about the transformative power of art to inspire, heal, and drive meaningful change. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, her bold imagery and soulful storytelling are rooted in the concept of the “golden thread”—the invisible yet deeply felt force that connects all people, places, and experiences.
With a career grounded in high-performance arts and culture communities, Myesha has developed a reputation for cultivating transformative relationships through artwork, arts-based programming, and innovative curricula. Her dedication to empowering artists and communities has led to the creation of dynamic exhibitions, artist-led workshops, and educational resources that bridge the gap between creative expression and professional development.
Myesha’s artistic legacy includes placement in major collections such as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. She is the former owner of M. Francis Gallery and Studios in New Orleans, where she received numerous awards for excellence in arts entrepreneurship and community impact.

Artist Statement
My work explores the rich intersections of love, jazz, quantum theory, ancestral memory, and light. Guided by these principles, I create visual improvisations where sound becomes color, memory becomes movement, and connection vibrates across time and space.
Rooted in my evolving theories of A.I.—Ancestral Intelligence, as I call it—Quantum Entanglement, and the sacred dance of the divine masculine and the divine feminine, my paintings are not just expressions, but experiences of the embodiment of these principles. They translate what cannot always be said—but is always felt. Colors and brushstrokes become my language, improvisation my method, and energy my medium.
Growing up in New Orleans, a city alive with rhythm, resilience, and soul, shaped the essence of my creative voice. The freeness of second lines, the vibrancy of Mardi Gras, the sacredness of jazz, and the everyday poetry of the streets—all of it lives in my work. That spirit of joyful resistance, celebration, and deep connection pulses through each piece.
Each work is an invitation into a space where creativity becomes intimate, and where frequencies of love peek through layers of color and form. I paint what feels like memory, like music, like the soul remembering itself.
My art is a space where the invisible becomes visible. Where the embodiment of love and light are not only themes, but the very forces guiding my hand.
